Local SEO Case Study: 94 Google Business Profile Calls in 3 Months

SEO results can take time. Every business starts from a different position, and every local market has its own level

SEO results can take time. Every business starts from a different position, and every local market has its own level of competition.

This Local SEO case study shows the progress of an ongoing project I’ve been working on for approximately five months.

To protect client privacy, I am not sharing the business name.

The results below cover three months of Google Business Profile performance:

  • June 2026: 0 calls
  • July 2026: 36 calls
  • August 2026: 58 calls
  • Total: 94 call clicks

The Local SEO Project

I started working with this local business about five months ago.

The main goal was to improve its visibility in local search and generate more customer actions from Google.

For this project, Google Business Profile calls became one of the key metrics.

The three-month trend was clear:

0 → 36 → 58 calls

June 2026: Starting Point

0 Calls

June was the starting point for this three-month period.

The Google Business Profile recorded 0 call clicks.

At this stage, the focus was on building a stronger local SEO foundation. The goal was to create steady growth instead of expecting instant results.

July 2026: First Growth

36 Calls

In July, the Google Business Profile generated 36 call clicks.

This was the first clear sign of progress.

June: 0 calls
July: 36 calls

As a result, the campaign began showing measurable customer activity from Google.

August 2026: Continued Growth

58 Calls

The growth continued in August.

The Google Business Profile generated 58 call clicks.

That’s 22 more calls than July.

The monthly trend was:

0 → 36 → 58

This upward movement is one of the most important parts of this Local SEO case study.

Total94

The total is 94 Google Business Profile call clicks over three months.

However, I want to be clear about what this number means.

What Do These Numbers Mean?

The reported number represents call clicks from the Google Business Profile.

It should not be presented as 94 confirmed customers or 94 sales.

In other words:

94 call clicks ≠ 94 customers

Instead, the data shows that potential customers increasingly used the Business Profile to start a call.

That makes this a useful Local SEO result, while still keeping the reporting accurate.

Why Local SEO Results Take Time

One important lesson from this project is that SEO does not work at the same speed for every business.

For example, a business in a highly competitive area may need more time to gain visibility than a business in a less competitive market.

Several factors can affect the speed of results:

  • Local competition
  • Target location
  • Search demand
  • Website strength
  • Google Business Profile strength
  • Existing online presence
  • Competitor activity
  • Search intent

Therefore, I don’t believe every business should be given the same SEO timeline.

Every market is different.

My Local SEO Approach

My goal is not simply to get a business ranking.

Instead, I focus on turning search visibility into useful customer actions.

My process is simple:

1. Understand

First, I understand the business, services, customers, location, competitors, and search intent.

2. Optimize

Next, I improve the website and Google Business Profile based on the opportunities found during the research.

3. Build Relevance

Then, I create and improve content that matches the services, locations, and searches that matter to the business.

4. Build Trust

At the same time, I work on the signals that help both Google and potential customers understand the business.

5. Measure

After that, I track meaningful SEO data and customer actions.

6. Improve

Finally, I use the data to decide what needs more work.

Rankings Are Not the Final Goal

Rankings are important.

However, ranking alone doesn’t tell the whole story.

For a local business, I want the customer journey to look like this:

Search

Visibility

Business Profile Visit

Engagement

Call or Website Visit

Potential Customer

That’s why I look beyond rankings when measuring Local SEO results.

Don’t Judge SEO Too Early

One month of data may not tell the complete story.

Instead, look at the trend.

For this project:

June: 0 calls

July: 36 calls

August: 58 calls

0 → 36 → 58

The direction is clear.

The campaign is also still ongoing, so these results are not the end of the project.

Local SEO Results So Far

Anonymous Local Business

Campaign duration: Approximately 5 months

Results shown: 3 months

Primary metric: Google Business Profile call clicks

94 total call clicks

58 call clicks in August

36 call clicks in July

0 call clicks in June

The Biggest Lesson

The biggest lesson from this project is simple:

Don’t expect every SEO campaign to grow at the same speed.

Competition matters.

Location matters.

Search demand matters.

The starting point matters.

Therefore, a good SEO strategy needs realistic expectations, consistent work, and regular measurement.

I focus on:

Build → Measure → Improve → Grow

The goal isn’t just to rank.

The goal is to get found, get trusted, and get chosen.
